About Me

Hi, I’m Tannvi. My interests sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, law, technology and public policy, particularly questions around responsible AI, privacy, data governance and how emerging technologies interact with people and institutions. I started out in law and have since found my way into research and policy. Along the way, I’ve worked, studied, competed, written, researched, coded a little, and changed my mind about what I want to do more than once.

Currently exploring responsible AI, AI governance and technology policy at CeRAI, IIT Madras. My previous work includes:

  1. Previously, I practised technology, data protection and fintech law at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, before moving into research and public policy.
  2. Studied law at Christ University, Bangalore, along with which I pursued Advanced Diploma in Cyber Security & Data Protection Laws at the NALSAR University of Law.
  3. Tried to understand the technology I kept talking about by taking Harvard’s CS50: Introduction to Computer Science.
  4. Represented my university at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, reaching the Octo-Finals of the 2024 International Rounds.
  5. Spent another unreasonable amount of law school doing the Willem C. Vis Moot, and apparently never quite left mooting behind.

I also volunteer as Co-chair of Media at Moot Alumni Association and Arbitrate the Willem C. Vis Moot.‪

Outside of that, I write simply because I like to. I am interested in people, places, literature, travel, and the small, often ordinary things that become interesting when you pay enough attention to them. You can find my little internet journal at Scratch!
